Uhuru Honours Sabina Chege's Humble Request

President Uhuru Kenyatta came through to fulfil a request made by Murang'a Woman representative Sabina Wanjiru Chege on July 25, during the funeral of former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth's mother.

Sabina had called on the president to assist in ensuring that the Kirwara Hospital be upgraded to a Level Four Hospital.

Chege shared the good news with Murang'a residents on her Facebook page on Tuesday, October 22, after her team visited the hospital to inspect the progress of the project.

"Kirwara Hospital will be upgraded to a fully-fledged Level Four Hospital, a request I made to H.E the President during the send-off ceremony of the mum to the former Gatanga Member of parliament Hon. Peter Kenneth," Sabina announced,

"My team joined Gatanga member of parliament Hon. Engineer Nduati Ngugi, Gatanga Ward MCA Hon. Gachuhi and other local leaders in the inspection of the structural site by the Ministry of Public Works officials at Kirwara Hospital in Gatanga Constituency," Sabina wrote on Facebook.

She further went on to reveal the improvements that the hospital was going to receive courtesy of her request to the head of state.

"The hospital will have an X-ray department, at least 150 in-patient bed capacity, a well-equipped laboratory and all categories of wards," the County MP added.

Sabina also revealed that the hospital would have a rehabilitative health wing, a fully equipped maternity with a fully operational theatre among other facilities.

"I shall continue working with all the stakeholders involved to make the dream come true," she concluded.
