Waiguru Coins Sweet Name For Uhuru After Central Leaders Attack Him

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru coined a sweet name for President Uhuru Kenyatta, as she defended him from an attack by Mt Kenya leaders.

While launching development projects in Kirinyaga on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, Waiguru defended BBI and used a proverb to drum up support for the initiative.

According to Waiguru, Kenyatta was like a mother who was to be protected from assault by angry visitors.

"There is no other leader in Mt Kenya other than Kenyatta. He is like our mother. We should love and protect him. Can someone raid your home and ask you to beat your mother?" Waiguru wondered.

She also warned the region's leaders against attacking BBI before the contents of its report were made public.

"My understanding is that Mt Kenya leaders should calm down and relax. We have not yet read the contents of the BBI. You cannot attack what you don't know yet. Let's wait for it to be released. As politicians, let us focus on developing our regions and we shall engage in politics when the time comes," Waiguru warned.

According to her, Kenyatta was forced into the handshake due to his love for the country. Waiguru opined that the country was in turmoil and Kenyatta acted swiftly on his own accord, but with total wisdom and understanding.

"It was a hard choice for Uhuru to hold hands with Raila. However, can you live in peace without happy neighbours? I want to declare that we stand with Kenyatta and the BBI," Waiguru affirmed.

On Tuesday, October 29, a section of Mt Kenya governors called for a press conference in Nairobi and gave a statement concerning the release of the BBI report.

The governors, led by Francis Kimemia of Nyandarua, urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to expedite the release of the document.
