Murkomen Satirically Mocks Uhuru, Attracts Fierce Backlash

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen's bitter attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta stirred up a storm as he received a backlash from former Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo.

On Monday, November 2, Murkmomen took to social media to allege that Kenyatta's and Raila Odinga's handshake and Building Bridges Initiative protected corrupt governors.

According to Murkomen, any governor who was against the BBI was hang out to dry upon being embroiled in corruption allegations.

"This is the truth. If you are a governor and you are about to be indicted for corruption. All you have to do is just shout handshake and they will respond with BBI.

"You will be safe and you won’t be charged. Ask Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and his Samburu counterpart Moses Kasaine who are unconstitutionally out of office," Murkomen alleged.

Embattled Waititu is temporarily out of office as he faces a Ksh488 million fraud case in court.

Former Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, swiftly lashed out at Murkomen, while defending President Uhuru Kenyatta's project.

"Are you suggesting that it's ok to steal? Anyone who’s suspected of stealing regardless of political affiliation should be dealt with judiciously.

"Even those that you say usually cry out to the handshake will one day face the music. Criminality has no time limit. Jela bado wataenda (They will still face their jail term)," Kabogo hit back.

On Monday, November 4, Amani National Congress leader, Musalia Mudavadi also pointed an accusing finger at ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, claiming he was shielding corrupt individuals.

According to a report by Daily Nation, Musalia was not pleased by Raila's newly formed alliance with four governors, to drum up support for Kibra candidate Benard 'Imran' Okoth, ahead of the anticipated November 7 by-election.

Mudavadi alleged that the governors were only supporting Raila's choice candidate in exchange for protection from investigations. Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru, Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) joined Odinga at his Imran's final Kibra rally on Sunday, November 3.
