Powerful Woman in Charge of All Presidential Records

On June 5, 2018, President Uhuru Kenyatta tasked two ladies with leading his communication team at State House.

One of the ladies is 41-year-old Munira Mohammed.

Ms Mohammed was appointed by the president as the Deputy Head, Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) and Head of the Presidential Library.

Her job entails leading a team to design and develop the library, develop storylines and themes for both permanent and temporary public exhibitions.

She also does research work and collects material relevant to the Presidential Library, Museum and Exhibition Centre.

Further, she works closely with the families of Kenya's first three presidents and the State Department of Heritage to decide on important speeches, papers, books, artworks, artefacts and other materials to preserve and exhibit.

Though not much is known about her, Ms Mohammed, who comes from Kwale County, worked as a senior reporter at KTN News.

Ms Mohammed works under Kanze Dena, the State House Spokesperson and Head, Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU).

Formerly, Kanze worked at Citizen TV as a senior news anchor.
