Akombe's Message on Msando's Birthday Brews Controversy

Former IEBC commissioner Roselyn Akombe on Saturday, December 28, sent a message of what would have been slain ICT manager Chris Msando's birthday.

Through her official Twitter account, Akombe stated that Msando would have been celebrating his 47th birthday.

She noted that his wife, Eva Msando, and children had been robbed off their father and would not make memories with him.

"He should have been celebrating with his children and wife, ready for the New Year celebrations and a new school year for his kids," she posted.

Dr Akombe added, "But he sought to protect the integrity of our elections; And for that, he was silenced," she stated.

Akombe who now serves as Chief of Policy and Guidance Political and Peacebuilding Affairs at the UN has been vocal against electoral injustices in the country.

Her post elicited over 300 comments since it was posted and had been retweeted more than 600 times with many calling on the politicians to come forward on the truth of Msando's demise.

"Raila and his fellow conmen from NASA need to tell the people what they did to Msando, the same way they hacked the system to push the same narrative they did by killing Msando and making it look like it was the other person," one user stated.

"A man at the heart of a crucial election had died and the country did not quite know how to react to his demise. I had expected some outrage, from all sectors of society but all I registered was the privatisation of grief," another added.

Another netizen wrote, "May the murderers know no peace, may they die by the sword they used on Msando...RIP."
