Why Murkomen Wants Running Mate Position Scrapped

Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has expressed his desire for the scrapping of the running mate position from the country's leadership structure.

Murkomen took to social media to respond to a proposal in the Building Bridges Initiative revealed by ODM leader Raila Odinga during his interview with Citizen TV

Raila stated that the BBI report proposed the introduction of the Prime Minister post and for cabinet ministers to be ex-officio members in the national assembly.

The Elgeyo Marakwet legislator critiqued the proposed administrative structure stating that it would negatively impact leadership in the country.

"Creating a PM position in our deceitful political environment will serve to create wrangles between; President and deputy president; president and prime minister; deputy president and prime minister," Murkomen opined.

He went on to criticise the nature of the political landscape in the country stating that it was not yet at a level to handle particular systems.

"For as long as we ground our politics on deception&craftiness we shall be having first terms characterized by Obama-Biden bromance and second terms full of wrangles targeted at finishing DP and the DP fighting for survival," the senator stated.

Other than the introduction of the leadership positions, Murkomen provided a rather far different proposal to the amendment of the administrative structure.

"We better scrap running mate position until we become honest," he added.

Murkomen has been a vocal figure in expressing his displeasure at the former premier's drive towards reshuffling the country's styructure.
