AU envoy, Raila Odinga took a judge's daughter's wedding by storm in a private cermony held at Usenge Village in Siaya County.
The Standard on Monday, December 30, was first to report that Justice William Ouko's first daughter Jolly Langi wedded her fiance Jeremy Awori in a colourful traditional wedding.
Jeremy, a medical doctor, is the son of Ambassador Dennis Awori, a relative to Former Vice President Moody Awori. The former VP represented the groom's family at the function.
Apart from Odinga, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, Busia Senator Amos Wako and Attorney General Paul Kihara, Cabinet Secretaries Joe Mucheru (ICT) and Keriako Tobiko (Environment) also graced the event on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
More than 10 judges led by Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu were also present.
The arrival of the guests brought the town to a standstill, as they arrived at the event with high-end choppers and vehicles.
This caused a stir among the villagers who thronged the roadside to have a glimpse of the procession.
The ceremony was preceded by a private dowry payment which was witnessed by close family members of the newly wedded.
A buffet with sweet music followed later as the guests toasted to the new couple.
Odinga's daughter Rosemary Odinga, wowed the audience with exquisite skills as she engaged the bridal party in a rhumba, lingala na ohangla dance.
