Deputy President William Ruto, on Saturday, January 11, sent out his heartfelt condolences to Samburu Deputy Governor Julius Leseeto over the loss of his wife, Linah.
"You have lost the pillar of your home and community, a source of love, strength, and happiness," he stated.
"May the Lord grant you the grace and comfort to bear this grief," the DP added.
The governor's wife passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Nairobi Hospital where she was being treated for a lung problem.
“She had been battling with what was thought to be pneumonia but it was later discovered to be a connective lung tissue problem. She had been in the ICU for about 16 days,” Leseeto disclosed to the Daily Nation.
Leseeto's boss and Samburu Governor Moses Kasaine Lenolkulal, was among the host of leaders who condoled with the family of the bereaved.
"It is with profound sadness and sorrow that I have received the news of the passing on of H.E Linah Leseeto. I visited her in the hospital while she was unwell and prayed for her recovery together with friends," he stated.
"On my own behalf, on behalf of my family and the entire County Government of Samburu, I wish to convey my sincere condolences to the family," he further revealed.
In what has been a sad week, K24 TV news anchor Anjlee Gadhvi was on Saturday, January 11, cremated at Kariakor Hindu Crematorium.
The cremation followed a funeral service that at the Shree Lohana Mahajan Mandal Temple on Desai Road, Nairobi.
The revered journalist passed on at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi after a long battle with cancer.
