K24 TV staff members are in mourning after the demise of one of their own who worked in the technical department and one of the longest-serving and experienced technicians.

Kiambi Murithi met his untimely death through a tragic road accident that occurred on Thursday, February 20 while on his way to Meru County.

Sources who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke confirmed the sad news that once again brought sadness to the newsroom months after the demise of Anjlee Gadhvi who succumbed to cancer in January 2020.

Before moving to K24 TV, Kiambi worked for KTN in the same capacity at the technical department.

According to a source at K24 TV, he and one other occupant of the vehicle passed on after their car crashed into a gorge off the Meru-Maua Road.

Speaking to Citizen TV, traffic police boss Wycliffe Kundu stated that two other people sustained serious injuries in the morning accident at Nkinyang’a area.

The injured were rushed to the Maua Methodist Hospital.

The vehicle was also damaged to a large extent, whereby the impact of the accident totally ripped off its roof.

In November 2019, K24 TV was in mourning after Daniel Chemjor, the head of news directors passed on after being involved in a horrific accident in Baringo County.

Chemjor who was headed to Kabarnet from Eldoret lost his life after his vehicle veered off the road while approaching the Kerio River Bridge before rolling and falling into a deep gorge.

Elgeyo Marakwet County Commissioner Dr Ahmed Omar confirmed that he was the only one in the vehicle.

Chemjor was on his way to see his wife who had delivered a newborn baby.
