NTV presenter, Grace Sowairina Msalame, launched a high-end fashion business as she joined a long list of media personalities such as Citizen TV's Lilian Muli and K24's Betty Kyalo, who run fashion entities.

The Unscripted show host, on Sunday, March 8, via Instagram announced that she had partnered with Vivo Activewear Limited to launch her clothing line, Sowairina by Vivo, later giving daily updates on the developments of the business located at Sarit Centre, Nairobi. 

"This labour of love is finally here. Sowairina By Vivo has been birthed and this week our first collection together will be available in stores. My small way of celebrating omen this month.

“From a long line of Fashion enthusiasts- my grandma was a seamstress, my auntie to date is a designer, my father had an eye for fashion and my sister loves to create herself and I absolutely love to play dress-up and experiment! So this is a journey I’m very excited about and I truly hope you find something you like,” Msalame wrote.

The NTV star disclosed that her clothing line was inspired by the notion of the working woman, not restricted and likes to play around with her dressing.

"This is almost like a journey of coming full circle. This is very close to my heart. This is my gift to you, a capsule collection for the working woman who also likes to have a bit of fun.

"Depending on where you work, you can find something for the office and also something for a dinner or a cocktail after hence the structured looks and cuts with a few flowy weekend dresses," she enthusiastically stated.

She also named the clothing line ZaRa out of the love for her twin daughters.

"This is the ZaRa Collection! Named after my twin daughters- Zawadi and Raha as a homage to the gift they will forever be to my life and an example to them that we can make our own," she proclaimed. 

Speaking with Kenyans.co.ke on Saturday, March 14, the presenter expressed confidence that her brand would grow, detailing plans she had set up for the business.

"This partnership business is amazing and we have steps that would ensure it goes continental," Msalame stated. 

Citizen TV news anchor Lilian Muli on Monday, February 3, also launched an exquisite spa at Sound Plaza in Woodvale Grove, Nairobi. On her social media pages, the news anchor shared a video of the La Modelle Spa and welcomed her followers for what she termed as a magnificent experience.

"La Modelle invites you to a quintessential hair and beauty experience. You will receive first-class, individual attention from our team of stylists," Muli stated.

In April 2018, K24 TV anchor Betty Kyallo launched a beauty parlour, Flair With Betty, where she promised clients good hair, beautiful nails and fresh barber cuts'. Socialite Vera Sidika and fashion model Susan Kaittany also run fashion businesses.
