Citizen TV journalist Francis Gachuri was on the night of Sunday, March 15, left speechless after Murang'a Women Representative Sabina Chege fiercely clashed on live TV with Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika.

The two had been invited to Inooro TV's live programme Kirirmbi as part of a panel of four to majorly discuss the state's response to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The conversation, however, quickly got out of hand after the two lawmakers started arguing about Chege's involvement in the impeachment threat against Deputy President William Ruto.

Kihika kickstarted the argument by calling Sabina a coward, before claiming that her name was on the list of MPs who had signed a committment to impeach the deputy president.

"Let me go back a bit to give context. Sabina has spoken very well. And what really makes me happy, is that you who started with a lie. You started with a lie.

"This Sabina who wants to talk about peace...there is no one who has divided us more than Sabina," Kihika states amid protests from the Murang'a Woman Rep.

Chege, in her rejoinder, challenged Kihika to prove her claims. All the while, Gachuri is trying, in vain, to control the argument and at some point, throws his hands in the air in despair.

Kihika: First, you are a coward!

Sabina: Ooooooh!

Kihika: She was to sign that they impeach Ruto.

Sabina: Did you see my name there?

Kihika: Do you want me to show you...?

Sabina: Show me!

Nairobi County Speaker Beatrice Elachi tries to chip in to the conversation without much success as Kinangop MP, Kwenya Thuku is besides himself with laughter at the unexpected derailment of the otherwise serious conversation.

The two leaders, who support different factions within Jubilee Party, Kieleweke (Chege) and Tangatanga (Kihika) have seemingly been on a collision course ever since the split in the ruling party became imminent.

Some Jubilee leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta joined their ODM counterparts in kickstarting the process of impeaching the DP on Wednesday, March 11, over what they claimed was a case of misconduct and violation of the oath of office on Ruto's part.

His allies, however, accused the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party of exploiting a Nusu mkate government strategy.
