Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in charge of Transport Wavinya Ndeti on Tuesday, March 24, penned a heartfelt message to her late husband.
Through her social media pages, Wavinya praised her husband for being a man whom the family could always count on.
"If there is one person I really miss in my life, it is my husband, Prince Henry Dolamu Oduwole. This gentleman was a loving husband, father and a real man. Rest peacefully darling till we meet again," Wavinya wrote on Facebook.
The former Machakos Gubernatorial aspirant lost her husband on Sunday, September 24, 2016, after his blood pressure shot up drastically at the Nairobi Hospital.
Before that, he had sought medication from a couple of facilities including Mater Hospital and had also been flown to London for treatment.
His death came as a big blow to his family, who all agreed that Oduwole was a very supportive and humble person.
The late is said to have been born from a royal family in Nigeria and had vast businesses across the world including London, South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.
At the time of his death, Ms Wavinya was warming up to contest for the Machakos Gubernatorial seat and Oduwole's death dealt her a big blow.
Despite her husband's death, she stood strong and contested the seat with the incumbent Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
Governor Mutua was declared the winner after he narrowly beat Ndeti in the hotly contested race.
It is only in January 2020 that Wavinya was appointed to the CAS position by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"I thank the Almighty God for his boundless grace. I thank His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving me this opportunity to serve the people of this great country as the Chief Administrative Secretary for Transport. It’s time to get down to work and get the wheels moving," she expressed after her appointment.
