A little girl, seven years old, who touched Deputy President William Ruto's heart with a neat and well-composed poem on Friday, March 6 in Kandara, Murang'a, resurfaced to give Kenyans and the whole world hope amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
On Saturday, April 4, Abilasha Muthoni recorded an emotional poem, as she herself could not contain her tears as she narrated how Covid-19 had shuttered the dreams and world of many people.
Muthoni recited her poem in phases, starting by describing the effects of Coronavirus, how to restore hope and how to curb the disease.
What is this that has brought the entire world to a stop
What power do you have over the world
Oh, you! Coronavirus
Spreading like bushfire
From one country to another
Infecting and taking away the lives of the people
That everyone should be wearing masks wherever they are
Schools have been closed
Business operations suspended
Thus lowering down the global economy
Food shortage, high prices due to restricted movements
That has interfered with food transport, limiting access to the market
Quarantine measures all over the world
Scientists around the world working day and night
Trying to find the right medicine for this pandemic
We cannot lose on this one
For we have hope in the One who is All-Powerful
And reigns in the Heaven and on the earth
And Who all glory belongs too
He has promised us in 2nd Chronicles 7:14
And I quote:
If my people are called by my name
Shall humble themselves and pray
And turn away from their wicked ways
Then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins
And heal their land
It's not the time to complain, fear or blame each other
But to call upon Him our Heavenly Father
We are helpless in this situation without his divine intervention
He is faithful enough to fulfil his promises which are Yes and Amen
And always remember to do your part, with soap and clean water
Or sanitizing your hands
And keep social distancing
For the ones who are sick, may God heal them wherever they are
And the ones who have departed already, may their souls rest in eternal peace.
We shall overcome, never give up.
Her artistry saw Deputy President William Ruto surprise her mother with a brand new car. She had requested the DP to pay her school fees. However, he opted to support her mother, who would, in turn, provide for her.
