It was an unprecedented celebration on Saturday, April 11, as Citizen TV journalist Faizal Ahmed tied the knot with his media colleague.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Ahmed confirmed that he tied the knot with his lover and NTV anchor Zainab Ismail in a private ceremony in Nairobi.
He further disclosed that the event took place inside their house and was attended by around eight people.
The wedding followed Islamic traditions and parents to both the bride and the groom attended the event.
"The wedding took place in our house yesterday and it was attended by around 8 people.
"We just did the religious wedding and both my parents and those of the bride," stated Faizal.
It is not clear how much the couple spent in preparing for the wedding which was held in adherence to the government directive which barred public gatherings of more than 15 people.
Ahmed, a Liverpool FC fan and car enthusiast, has previously worked as a reporter at K24 TV before he switched over to the Kilimani-based station.
Ismail, on the other hand, works as a news anchor at NTV and has previously served as a news anchor at Ebru TV and as a journalist at Iqra FM.
She attended the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) and undertook her attachment at the Kenya News Agency (KNA).
Ahmed joins journalists recently married to fellow media celebrities including his Citizen TV colleague Sam Gituku.
Gituku wedded his colleague Ivy Waitherero in a star-studded event in May 2019 which was attended by journalists Waihiga Mwaura, Mac Otani and Joe Ageyo among many other media colleagues.
