Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has stepped in to rescue a mother suffering from a mysterious illness.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the lawmaker disclosed that he was touched by the suffering of the woman and sent his team, on the morning of Thursday, April 23, to her house to take her to the hospital.

He further noted that plans were in the offing to set up a business for her and promised to school her two children through to university level.

"I am going to take her to the hospital. This morning, as we speak, I have sent my team to her house to take her to the hospital for treatment.

"I will also educate her children all the way to the university. We shall organise another house for her around the area and pay her rent," stated the lawmaker.

In the video, the woman whose name was hidden for privacy reasons narrated how she had been suffering from a strange disease for around two months.

She indicated that in that period, her business collapsed and her children could no longer attend school as she had been bed-ridden for a while.

She stated that she could not explain why her body was swelling and that the swollen areas were turning darker.

"I am so sick and I can't even wake up. I have been sick for two months now. My business collapsed and my family was really suffering. I used to stay hungry.

"I need help to access the hospital. I wish the doctors test me and find out what is ailing me. My whole body is swollen and it is turning black," stated the woman amid sobs.

She was thanking the legislator for the donation he had made to the family as part of his ongoing plan to bail out vulnerable families.

Her neighbour confirmed that they would once in awhile chip in to provide food for the woman and her family.
