"I am worth what I am worth as a result of my hard work. I started doing feasibility studies in my room at Hall 2 at the University of Nairobi and for over 40 years I must have made some money," Kagwe stated.

According to Tell-Em's website, the firm was established in 1999 and has grown to become one of the leading PR agencies in East Africa. Its head offices are based at Riverside Drive, Nairobi.

The firm, run by Kagwe as the chairman and Joel Chacha, as General Manager, has offices in Kenya and Tanzania and affiliate companies in Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia.

It offers communication services with strategic planning and counsel, issue management, stakeholder engagement, media relations and corporate communications among its key services.

In November 2019, the firm marked its 20th anniversary at a lavish hotel in Nairobi, which attracted top blue-chip companies in Kenya.

“Now more than ever, businesses require pro-active spirited partnerships to help them achieve their goals and as Tell-Em Public Relations we work hard to guarantee this to our clients.

"Our primary focus is on the delivery of high-quality communications and creative expertise, which is totally focused on our clients’ requirements,” Kagwe, the immediate former Nyeri Senator stated while making his remarks.

The CS also proclaimed that the company's future was bright as he outlined plans for the next two decades.

“Our company strapline ‘Your business is our image’ captures the essence of who and what we are as a company. Maintaining that approach is an integral part of the ambitious plans we have for our services moving forward. I think the next 20 years will be even more exciting, both for the PR sector and for Tell-Em Public Relations,” Kagwe expressed.

The company has won nine awards from PRSK - the Public Relations Society of Kenya, including Best Agency and Best Media Campaign.

Its most recent award was for the work on the mVisa launch where it won the Best Media Campaign and Best Overall Campaign in the 2016 PRSK awards.
