Kabale Resident District Commissioner Darius Nandinda, while addressing Rwanda's Covid-19 task force on Thursday, April 30, revealed they had confiscated Noor's phone to aid in establishing his contacts while in the country.

The phone was presented to Rwandan army's Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) so as to ascertain persons he may have interacted with while in Kabale town.

Nandinda stated that the authorities believe Noor was withholding crucial information on his whereabouts, thus posing danger to the well being of residents in the town.

Noor, when probed, told the police that he along with his co-driver, spent the night in their truck while in Kabale, Uganda prior to proceeding to Kisoro.

"He has said he only interacted with his turn boy, but he also says his truck was parked in Kigongi, opposite Manhattan Hotel. We do not believe this information. We have left matters to CMI and we shall get to know who he contacted," Nandinda was quoted as saying.

The said hotel is reportedly located close to an infamous night pub with lots of sex workers.

Kabale District Chairperson Besigye Keihwa assured that his office would lias with relevant authorities to reach out to all persons who got into contact with Noor.

Keihwa revealed that they had nabbed and quarantined a woman they allege had contact with the truck driver.

Small traders who sold potatoes to Noor have also been quarantined along with several others who got into contact with him while he was in the neighbouring Kisoro town.
