Even though Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua has not held an elective seat since 2012, she has been a crucial influential figure in Kenyan politics.

With the recent political developments in the country, the seasoned politician has not been vocal in giving her opinion with her most recent update dismissing false remarks attributed to her.

On Tuesday, May 19, however, Karua through her Facebook account, addressed how she lost the Kirinyaga Gubernatorial seat.

"Those who aided and abetted theft of our victory in Kirinyaga would be foolish to expect support or sympathy from us moving forward.

"Any promise made whether remotely or howsoever is rendered meaningless by subsequent misdeeds. For the umpteenth time we say, lie on the bed you made and remember you reap what you sow," she stated.

Her remarks appeared to have rubbed a section of Kenyans the wrong way with many bringing up the 2007 elections where she defended President Mwai Kibaki's controversial win.

She faced backlash for supporting Kibaki as some people alleged that Karma came back to haunt her in the 2017 Kirinyaga gubernatorial elections.

"I guess you are referring to the incumbent governor Anne Waiguru. But the same Martha Karua, you have forgotten that in the year 2007, you played part in aiding Mwai Kibaki to steal Raila Odinga's victory. Remember whatever ills you do to other people, one day will come to haunt you," one Jacob Nyandieki stated.

Evans Nyakundi posted, "I admire your stand and your leadership skills but when I remember bloodshed in 2007/2008, we can't sympathize with your political downfall."

User Isaac Ruto stated, "Your victory was stolen because you stole someone's victory too in 2007 to Kibaki."

"Says a mother who is the reason behind why people fought in 2007. Your Political carrier was buried long before you knew," Maritim posted.

Karua in 2019, opened up on how the former president used and dumped in the 2007-2013 period clarifying that she wasn't in his inner circle.

However, she went on to state that she had no regrets whatsoever for supporting Kibaki and that she had buried the hatchet on all that transpired.
