Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) sleuths ambushed two tycoons, a Kenyan and Italian, in possession of grenades, firearms and ammunition.

A report by the Daily Nation on Saturday, May 30, detailed that the two investors, Isaac Redrot (Kenyan) and Stephano Uccelli (Italian) are embroiled in a Ksh 2 billion hotel (Temple Point Resort) row with German investor Hans Langer.

The detectives confiscated two firearms and ammunition belonging to the two suspects after arresting them at Temple Point Resort and Crystal Bay Resort in Watamu.

The detectives disclosed that the Italian and Kenyan were also under investigation for obtaining fake documents and court orders to defraud the German.

"The pistols and ammunition were seized pending verification of the firearm certificates and ballistics analysis.

"The suspects were escorted to Port Police Station in Mombasa for custody, to be charged with the offence of conspiracy to defraud," a police report stated.

Documents further revealed that the Kenyan and Italian had renamed Temple Point Resort to Salama Beach Resort after taking ownership from the German tycoon.

The two acquired ownership after 60 heavily armed police officers stormed Temple Point Resort, descended on the employees of the German tycoon, Hans Langer, beating them up as they evicted him from the resort in February 2020.

The evictors acted on a court order allegedly issued to the German in 2015.

"I was the first person to be dragged and beaten before being bundled into a police Land Cruiser. We want the Tourism CS Najib Balala and his Interior counterpart (Fred Matiang'i) to know about this issue and the mistreatment," Nicholas Katana, Hans Langer's staff lamented after they were evicted.
