One of Kenya's most highly rated comedy shows, Redykyulass, is looking to host one final comeback event on the Churchill Show.

Speaking to Daniel 'Churchill' Ndambuki during a special show aired on June 7, Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie alias KJ announced that he was ready to team up with his former partners - Walter Mong'are a.k.a Nyambane and Tony Njuguna, for a one-off show.

"Why not. It will be awesome. A quick one-off show, we'll talk to Walter and Tony and if they are ready to step into their redykyulass roles I'm in," he stated when Churchill asked if he was willing to be part of the comeback special episode.

The trio of KJ, Nyambane and Tony was arguably responsible for the success witnessed in Kenya's Comedy industry today.

Their show stood out not just for how their different comedic styles blended into one rib-cracking show, but also because they crossed lines that no one had dared to before.

Mimicking the late President Daniel arap Moi in his prime was akin to hurling stones at a police station, and going in to check if any found its mark, but they somehow made it work.

President Moi actually ended up becoming one of their well-known fans with videos of himself laughing his heart out at their jokes during public functions testament to the fact.

"Redykyulass first went on air in December 1999. At that time, the political scene was very heated and here we were with a show that had an impersonation of the president.

"So NTV took it and before we got to episode 4 it became the most-watched show in Kenya's history," KJ recounted during his latest interview.

Their bold form of comedy ushered in a new era where artists such as Churchill and Kajairo were then able to express themselves freely and grow into renowned comedians.

The Redylyulass trio can trace their roots to Kenyatta University where KJ and Nyambane were pursuing degrees in Fine Arts, while Tony was serving as an Administrative Assistant at the University.

Their big break came back in 1998 when Thomas Kwaka, popularly known as Big Ted, picked them to curtain raise for renowned Hip Hop group Kalamashaka, who were slated to perform at their campus, the rest, as they say, is history.

They are currently engaged in their own personal careers, with KJ immersing himself in the world of politics, Nyambane serving as a director in charge of Youth Programs and coordination in the Office of the President, and Tony working as a creative director for Scangroup.
