Leaked Uhuru, Raila Video Lands 2 Security Guards in Jail [VIDEO]

Update: Lawyer Danstan Omari, defending the two security guards demanded witness statements from President Uhuru Kenyatta and Odinga.

"Our clients were never in the State House. They have never gone to any government installation. If this is true that they captured the Head of States entourage at 8:20 p.m., then it was after the curfew which was then ending by 7 p.m.

"Whoever was outside past 7 p.m. was too be tested for Coronavirus and quarantined. We have demanded the CCTV footages. We shall be asking for statements of the Head of State and the former Prime Minister from the Director of Criminal Investigations. We want the Director of  Public Prosecutions to review this case," Omari defended. 


Two security guards were arrested for leaking a secret video of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga evaluating Nairobi Metropolitan Services projects  (NMS) on Tuesday night, June 2.

The duo was apprehended on Saturday, June 6 and later on released on Ksh 10K bail subject to being arraigned in court. 

The two officers, Patrick Rading Ambogo and Janet Magoma Ayonga will be presented at the Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday, June 17.

The two officers were accused of unauthorized interception of computer data contrary to section 17 (1) of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crime Act.

“On 2nd day of June 2020, at around 2020 hours at Nairobi County within the Republic of Kenya jointly, jointly intentionally and without authorization intercepted a security CCTV footage capturing the Head of State’s entourage along Kenyatta avenue,” the charge sheet reads. 

According to the act, the duo may be fined Ksh 20 million shillings, be jailed for 10 years or face both penalties. 

In the video, Kenyatta was spotted alighting from a blue car which appeared to be either a Probox or Sienta. The President was wearing a white shirt and a mask. 

On the front passenger's seat, Orange Democratic Movement leader Odinga alighted, wearing a green half jacket and a mask too.

The two were accompanied by heavily armed security personnel.

Kenyatta and Odinga took a walk along Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi and inspected the road projects initiated by NMS General Mohammed Badi.
