Towards the end of July, the government addressed the issue of people collapsing and dying in public spaces, that had been on the rise in the months leading to July.
The Ministry of Health explained that some of the cases could have been caused by other illnesses and not necessarily due to Covid-19.
"People have been passing away even before Covid-19. People were dropping down.
"Partner with us to really allay fears and to have Kenyans realise that other diseases are still around within the country and that it is not only Covid-19," stated Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Mercy Mwangangi.
On Tuesday, July 7, a video made rounds on social media showing a man who dropped dead after driving himself to a local health facility.
The video showed medics dressed in hazmat suits putting the man’s body in a white body bag.
According to eyewitness reports from Juja, Nairobi, the man had driven himself in a red car and collapsed after experiencing breathing problems.
