On a positive note, CAS Aman announced that 208 patients had recovered over the last 24 hours, making 17,368 the total number of confirmed recoveries to date.

Of the 208 recovered patients, 161 were discharged from the home based care, with the remaining 47 discharged from various health facilities across the country.

In response as whether the country was witnessing a gradual flattening of the curve due to reduced number of cases over the last few days, the CAS maintained that it was still to early to tell.

"It is too early to make any determination that the curve is going down. Our tests fluctuate, partly because of limitation with our supply chain & testing kits. The strongest indicator is people who are hospitalized & those that die because of Covid-19," he stated.

He further warned that young healthy people without underlying conditions also succumbed to Covid-19."Young people need to stop the reckless behavior so that we can control the disease," he asserted.
