Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday, August 23, accused the government of intimidating elected leaders holding divergent political stands.

The former Eldoret North MP was speaking during the interdenominational prayers held at his home in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County.

"There are many threats in the country, if you do this you will be taken to the DCI, if you do that you will be taken to EACC, if you associate yourself with a certain community you will be implicated in a case.

"I was reminding you that the book of Revelation 21:8 says that liars, adulterers, idol worshippers and cowards will not see heaven," stated Ruto.

The Deputy President added that those who develop fear will miss out on the worldly things and seeing the kingdom of heaven and asked leaders to take caution.

Also in attendance in the gathering was Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri and his Soi compatriot Caleb Kositany with Ruto thanking them for holding firm their stand.

This came after Ruto launched a scathing attack against ODM, accusing them of being Lords of Corruption and also questioned their handshake intentions.

"The pretentious (former) Opposition, now turned Lords of corruption, attempted defence of the Covid19 grand larceny is NOT shocking.

"It confirms the worst of Kenyan's fears that their side of handshake was never interested in the people's good but opportunity to loot. What a shame," he noted.

Ruto also condemned police brutality following the arrests of three senators, Cleophas Malala (Kakamega), Christopher Lang'at (Bomet) and Steve Lelegwe (Samburu).

The DP appeared to throw jabs to the government again when he cleared his name out of the Covid-19 corruption scandal in response to a Standard Newspaper headline that claimed he was sidelined in key decisions.
