K24 anchor Anne Kiguta on Sunday, September 6, tore into political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen for dragging her name in their twitter fight.

She was not impressed after her name was dropped in an online spat where Murkomen accused Ngunyi of pushing his political narratives through relatives in media.

In particular, Murkomen claimed that Ngunyi was using articles by political scientist Daisy Maritim Maina, a Sunday Standard columnist, to further advance his political message. The assertion drew sharp reaction from Maina who accused Murkomen of misogyny.

"Let me disabuse your misogynistic mind: I am an intellectual in my own right. I generate thought, I construct analysis and I dismantle simpletons.

"Mull on that, then we can discuss who between the two of us is being used. Hint: by William Ruto (Deputy President)," Maina wrote in response to the Senator.

Ngunyi cited previous criticism of Kiguta and her Punchline show as evidence of Murkomen's alleged degradation of women. This drew a heated reaction from Kiguta who questioned why she was being dragged into the spat.

"You said Anne Kiguta has no brain, and that my niece Daisy Maina has a small brain. That is why they are using my brain.

"But my niece thinks that you have the brain of an ox (ask her). If I am a fisher of men, you are a follower of women - to degrade them!" Ngunyi wrote.

Murkomen had claimed that Ngunyi's recent assertion that Ruto's 2022 Presidential bid was doomed without the support of the Mt Kenya region was being further advanced through Maina.

Kiguta also roasted Ngunyi for his incorrect spelling of the word 'niece', which the analyst used in explaining his relationship with Maina.

"Imagine two grown men can’t spell niece dragging me in their shenanigans. And I’m the one with no brain? How “niece” of them. What a time to be female with some or no brains at all!" she wrote.

In April, Murkomen was among allies of Ruto who blasted Kiguta for allegedly biased editorials, which they claimed were written by Mutahi Ngunyi.

Ngunyi has been vocal in his opposition of Ruto, and predicted on Punchline in July that the DP would be out of office by the end of 2020.

"By the time we are done with this year, my hunch is that people will be seeing William Ruto on the streets and wondering, who was he again? Was he a comedian?

"They will not remember who he was. That's my thinking. And I could be wrong on that. Two, by the time we are done with this year we will have a completely new architecture.

"That architecture is going to have a Ceremonial President, which is why I'm saying Ruto is going for a position that will not exist. We will also have an Executive Prime Minister," he opined.
