Kenya National Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako on Wednesday, February 3, voiced his concerns over the running of the Nairobi Metropolitan Services by General Mohamed Badi.
Seth accused Badi of using army tactics in negotiations and lacking human resource skills.
“Badi has failed and refused to appreciate the tripartite of social dialogue. The same problem was experienced at KNH when they brought an ex-inspector general of police to be the chairman of the board who ordered my arrest, using the police,” said Seth
Panyako accrued Badi’s background in the army as the reason why he expects salutation whenever he moves.
The nurses boss claimed that Badi was a stumbling block at the Nairobi Metropolitan Services, arguing that the general can only negotiate with the army.
Panyako insisted that Badi is shaming the Office of the President, and urged the Uhuru Kenyatta to hand over the NMS to civilians.
Badi in the company of the health directorate, NHIF officials in NMS-Universal Health Care, is currently conducting a public participation exercise that will take place across all 17 sub counties.
The exercise is part of the identification process of 66,000 households for the NHIF-UHC cover in addition to the sectors scale up health workers uptake and equipping of hospitals towards achievement of UHC , a key pillar of the Big 4 agenda.
Badi is also set to launch the construction of 440km of road in informal settlements in the company of the public works and transport team.
