On February 13, Police Officer Senior Sergeant Emmanuel Kalasinga, was involved in a grisly road accident that saw him admitted to hospital in a critical condition. 

According to eye witnesses, Sergeant Kalasinga’s motorcycle hit a pothole in Nairobi's Upper Hill area which caused him to ram into a wall with his bike busting into flames soon after that.  

The Senior Sergeant was rushed to Coptic Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

Sergeant Kalasinga was on official duty when the accident happened.

On 14 February, the DCI announced that doctors worked around the clock and successfully stabilized Emmanuel’s condition.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the source said that Kalasinga is recovering from the grisly accident.  

"Emmanuel got out of the coma yesterday and he can recognize a few people but can hardly speak.” Said the source.

Kalasinga doubles up as Police Motorcycle Outrider and the official Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Master of Ceremonies.

The Senior Sergeant is the voice behind the microphone in many National Police official functions as well as national celebrations.

In a post via Twitter, DCI described him as a person with amiable personality, who is diligent and dedicated to tasks assigned to him.

Kalasinga works under the Director of Criminal Investigation’s(DCI)  Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Unit.
