PS Kibicho Drops Power Suit to Teach KCSE Candidates [PHOTOS]

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho took time off his busy schedule to teach at St Peter’s Gathuthiini Secondary School in Kirinyaga County. 

The students’ mathematics lesson on Monday, March 1 was taken over by PS Kibicho who took the Form Four and Three students through Logarithms and how to compute them. 

The school is supported by the Gathuthiini Hope Foundation whose patron is the Interior PS.

“Yesterday our able patron PS Karanja Kibicho took time to teach Mathematics to our Form Three and Form Four students at St.Peter's Secondary Gathuthiini. Thank you sir for always holding dearly to your heart the empowerment of our society through education,” the foundation thanked. 

“Some students were automatically inspired and completely changed their destiny focus. It is encouraging,” expressed one Julius Waithaka.

The PS also donated desks to the school through the Gathuthiini Hope Foundation.

Kibicho has extensive experience in the teaching practice having taught various institutions of higher learning in Kenya and outside the country, including Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

At JKUAT, he served as the Chairman and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

He has also served as an external examiner at the University of Dar es Salaam, a visiting lecturer at the Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa, and a part-time lecturer at the University of Cape Town.

Kibicho holds a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, a Master of Science (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Nairobi. 

Before his appointment to the Ministry of Interior,  Kibicho served as a PSin the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade as well as the Ministry of Industrialization and Transport. 

His transition from academia to the government was initiated by former President Mwai Kibaki who had a knack for appointing technocrats in his administration.
