Following the release of the results, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has ordered that the findings be forwarded to his office for action.

The family and lawyer of the slain National Land Commission(NLC) officials while speaking to The Standard on Wednesday, March 17, revealed that she appeared disturbed days before she was kidnapped and later found dead.

“She said she had cases coming up, where she would be cross-examined, and felt that the cases were burdening her," her lawyer said.

Wambua was a key witness in a corruption case, besides being caught up in a succession row at work.

She had given a testimony in a case whereby the accused were alleged to have conspired to defraud the government of Ksh 122.3 million in fraudulent land deals. She was set to appear in court on March 1, but the case was adjourned to March 17.

Detectives revealed that Wambua received fifty-eight phone calls before her murder, and noted that the calls were linked to the cases she was involved in as a witness.

Detectives are analysing the calls to identify the owners of the telephone numbers.

Her body was found in a thicket in Ngong area on Saturday, March 13, some hours after she was reported missing.
