Detectives have pieced together a sequence of events that detailed how the four Kitengela friends spent their last moments in the hands of their abductors.
The quartet, Bian Oduor, Jack Anyango, Elijah Obuong and Benjamin Imbai were allegedly kidnapped after eating lunch at a popular club in Kitengela.
Police said that an in-depth analysis of their mobile data indicated that the phones belonging to the four victims were switched off between 4 pm and 5 pm in different areas along the Namanga Highway.
This was supposedly after the four were first taken to Kajiado County before they were spread to different parts of the country. Police stated that the four were paired and transported into two different vehicles from Kajiado as seen from the time their phones went off.
Obuong's phone was switched off in Kajiado Town, Imbai's phone at Alma near Kajiado Town, Ochieng's handset went off at Kisaju near Kitengela whole Oduor's gadget was switched off in Korompoi, a few kilometres from the Kitengela club where the four had met, according to Nation.
The police could not ascertain which routes the abductors took, adding that the investigation would delay as the four phones have not yet been traced.
However, they said that the abductors were in search of information and perused the phones before switching them off to cut off the trail any detective would follow.
"We suspect that they also deleted or obtained what they were looking for," detectives alluded, adding that this coincided with the murders which indicated that the four were interrogated.
Imbai's autopsy result indicated that he confronted his killers who overpowered, handcuffed and strangled him to death. His wrist and that of Obuong were chopped off, testicles crushed and had several stab wounds.
Police also revealed that they were following leads on a suspect identified as Erico, who met the four before they disappeared. Erico, through social media, had alleged that the four were killed before their bodies were found.
He was suspected to have travelled to Uganda to evade arrest. Detectives detailed that his phone was switched off on the same day and time as that of the victims’ gadgets but went back online at Syokimau.
The sleuths hope that statements from workers at the Kitengela club will shed more light on the mystery.
