The father of one of the victims of a suspected serial killer, Evans Wanjala, has revealed that on four separate occasions, he came face-to-face with the man said to have taken the lives of 5 young girls.
Chebet, one of the victims' fathers, in an interview with Citizen TV, on Sunday, July 18, narrated how he met the suspected serial killer four times. He further explained that the encounters seemed normal, and he didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with Wanjala.
Linda Cherono is one of the victims of the gruesome murders alleged to have been committed by Wanjala, who was apprehended by the DCI on July 17.
Cherono was allegedly killed on June 1 by Wanjala. In an interview, Chebet said that Wanjala always walked alone and did not speak or interact with anyone. He suspected nothing was amiss with the suspected serial killer.
"He is someone who walks just like the rest of us. I met him four times but never spoke to him," recounted Chebet.
Evans Wanjala is the second serial killer to be apprehended by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), after another serial killer, Masten Wanjala, was arrested by the DCI for murdering more than 10 children.
In a blow-by-blow revelation on Wednesday, July 14, Masten Wanjala told DCI officers that he lured small children, sucked blood, and then murdered them.
One neighbor recounted his interaction with Masten Wanjala, saying that he could not believe that he would commit such diabolical acts. "We were always playing football together. I'm shocked to learn that he confessed to being a killer," the neighbor stated.
