The Ministry of Defence, on Tuesday, October 5, announced candidates who have been shortlisted for different job positions.
The qualified candidates are set for interviews at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters located at Ulinzi House on Lenana Road, Nairobi.
The notice, published in MyGov paper, indicated that successful candidates are expected to fill 209 listed vacancies.
The vacancies include artisan plumbers, artisan spray painters, artisan panel beaters, artisan welders, artisan carpenters.
Others are artisan electricians, motor vehicle mechanics, clerical officers, senior support staff, drivers and chefs. Candidates are required to bring their original certificates, testimonials, and National Identification Cards.
For any inquiries, candidates are advised to call a switch number listed by the Ministry. During the interviews, strict observance of the Ministry of Health guidelines on the Covid-19 pandemic must be observed.
The notice further cautioned candidates against giving money to anybody purporting to be in a position to help in gaining the slots.

Candidates are advised to report for interviews on the dates and times indicated against their names.
Further, the Ministry announced 40 more slots that are yet to be filled. These include five vacancy slots for medical specialists and 35 slots for specialized care nurses.
For appointment to become a medical specialist, a candidate must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from a recognized university, a Masters degree in any of the medical fields recognised by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (MPDB), a certificate of Registration and practicing license from the MPDB and demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance.
In the case of a specialized nurse, a candidate must have a KCSE mean grade C, with at least C in Biology, English, or Kiswahili and a C- in any other two science subjects, a Kenya Registered Nurse or Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse Diploma from a recognised medical training college, a Higher Diploma, a valid Practising License and must be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
