A German national has been found dead under mysterious circumstances following an argument with his Kenyan lover.

The foreigner, 75, is said to have been involved in a heated argument with his Kenyan lover, 38, before the unfortunate incident happened.

His body was found hanging from the door frame of their master bedroom by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The report was filed by his lover at Nyeri’s Central Police Station on October 15.

Before finding the lifeless body of her German lover hanging on their door frame, she had earlier paid a visit to her ailing mother in the nearby Othaya area earlier in the day.

But on returning to their home in Nyeri’s Muhasibu Estate along the Gamerock area, she allegedly found her husband breathing fire, accusing her of infidelity.

An argument then ensued forcing her to flee fearing for her life, after the man allegedly threatened to kill her using a knife.

The deceased then locked himself in the bedroom, where his lifeless body was later found. When police officers from Nyeri arrived at the scene, they broke into the bedroom and found his body hanging from a rope.

Homicides detectives drawn from the DCI have already taken up the matter. They are collaborating with a team from Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau.

The two teams have already visited the scene and carried out the forensic analysis. They have also taken statements from various sources and are now waiting for the deceased’s kin to arrive from Germany, for a postmortem to be conducted in a bid to get to bottom of the matter.

Cases of foreigners dying mysteriously have been on the rise in recent times. In a recent case involving a foreigner DCI  seized a number of assets believed to have been bought by money stolen from the murdered Dutch tycoon, Herman Rouwenhorst.

The detectives working on the case have extended the investigations to Bungoma, Kisumu, and Kitale where they are trailing Ksh3 million believed to have been invested in those areas.

They have seized a newly purchased house that belongs to the two suspects, who were arrested for the murder of the tycoon. Items such as a refrigerator, television, television stand, radio system, and a solar system were also seized in the operation in Florida village, Kiembeni in Mombasa.
