Veteran politician and former Lugari Member of Parliament, Cyrus Jirongo, has called out Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi for disrespecting and disowning his biological mother, Hannah Mudavadi.

Speaking at a rally in Kitui on Thursday, January 24, the former Legislator noted that it was shameful for Mudavadi to claim that he is the son of Rosebella Jerono, his stepmother, instead of the woman who gave birth to him.

"Politics is making you disown your own birth mother, Mama Hannah, to an extent that you begin referring to Rosebella Jerono, your stepmother, as your biological mother. That is childish and shameful!" Jirongo remarked.

He also accused the ANC leader of betraying President Uhuru Kenyatta after he catered for his mother's funeral expenses.

"Uhuru took care of all expenses when Mudavadi's mother died. It goes against respect to abuse the person who helped you in your time of need. When you abuse Uhuru and his family, you are being disrespectful," added Jirongo.

Jirongo alleged that Mudavadi sabotaged the economy in the 1990s through shady deals that resulted in the loss of millions of shillings.

"You have heard that YK92 was responsible for the country's economic collapse and I carried that cross for many years. You have no idea what really happened.

"Those who do not believe should do research. Go and investigate whether the house that my friend has been living in at Riverside was not owned by Kamlesh Pattni."

The former lawmaker also castigated Mudavadi's alliance with Deputy President William Ruto noting that it was embarrassing for him to be lecturing Kenyans about corruption while working with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leader.

On Sunday, January 23, in a rather surprising move, Mudavadi pledged to work with Wetangula and Ruto during a meeting that was convened at Bomas of Kenya.

The ANC leader, who was launching his presidential bid, noted that Kenya is broke because of President Kenyatta's insatiable appetite for loans, corrupt officials and the inaction on the part of government agencies.

Mudavadi also stated that the cost of living was at an all-time high and castigated Kenyatta for plotting his succession instead of addressing the needs of the ordinary Kenyans.

"They don't pay taxes. They are the biggest burden Kenyans have to carry. We must reject their political projects and their sinister schemes in this year's elections.

"I refuse to board. I will not be lying to Kenyans. I will not board a train of lies Where are the handshake partners? Why should we line up next to the president to beg for development," he remarked.
