Two former convicts held a colourful wedding inside Nyeri Prison.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Wednesday, March 2, a correspondent who attended the wedding and a subsequent graduation ceremony at the prison stated that the two were celebrated by their families, friends and the wardens.
Virginia Karondu wedded Martin Mzera at the Nyeri Prison Chapel.

“The two tied the knot in pomp and colour,” the correspondent noted.
“At the same time, other convicts also graduated with certificates in Mindset Education and Theology. This gives hope to those serving in prison to believe in reforms,” he added.
Reports detailed that the bride served a seven-year jail term at Langata Women's Prison after she was found guilty of being in possession of banned substances.
The 24-year-old met the husband after she was released from jail.
Mzera, who is four years older, was in prison for one year after he was charged with being a member of a gang.
He, however, reformed and underwent various training in prison.
“I chose the prison chapel to remind myself of the years I spent in jail. In life, you can find someone who will accept you,” the bride stated.
The two hoped that their wedding will uplift other convicts to change and hope for the best in life.
