Education Ministry Announces Jobs With Ksh100K Pay for Teachers, How to Apply

Kenyan teachers seeking to upgrade their pay have a chance after the Ministry of Education unveiled job vacancies with a monthly salary of as much as Ksh 101,000

In a notice carried in local dailies on Tuesday, March 14, the Ministry headed by Cabinet Secretary  George Magoha announced that it was seeking 115 individuals to fill the positions of Principal Quality Assurance and Standards Officers.

Successful candidates will be eligible for a monthly salary ranging between Ksh63,000 and Ksh101,000 inclusive of allowances.

The applicants will also be eligible for a Ksh8,000 commuter allowance, Ksh6,000 leave allowance as well as house allowance and medical allowance as per prevailing conditions.

The successful candidates will be tasked with planning and carrying out quality assurance and standards assessments as well as producing quality assurance and standard assessment reports.

Other duties are advising Education boards on standards and coordinating school activities and programs.

How to Apply

The notice indicated that all applicants must be teachers who served under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC)'s Job Group M or an equivalent position for three years.

The job group is also known as the grade of Senior Graduate/Approved Teacher.

The applicants are also expected to have a Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent achievement from a recognised institution as well as a certificate in computer application skills.

Applicants must also show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Interested candidates should create an account on the Ministry's online portal, 

To create an account, the teachers will need to update their academic qualifications complete with primary and secondary school certificates as well as those from the tertiary level.

Applicants are expected to upload certified copies of academic, professional certificates and transcripts through the online portal.

After the exercise, shortlisted candidates will be expected to produce original identity cards and certificates as well as a letter of appointment to their current substantive positions during the interview

Applications must be submitted before Monday, April 4, 2022.
