Deputy President William Ruto did not have kind words for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga, during his campaign trip to Wajir County.

Speaking to locals, DP Ruto opined that Raila pretends to be against corruption but he has benefitted the most from looting that has silently been happening in the country.

Ruto - on Thursday, March 30 campaign trail - accused Raila of harassing governors to fund his campaigns. The second-in-command further claimed that the ODM party leader was using the loot from counties in his campaigns.

The DP did not hold back his accusations against the ODM leader, whom he claimed was funded by money stolen from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).

"I heard the riddles man (Raila) saying he will fight corruption. My friend, how on earth will you fight corruption yet today you are the biggest beneficiary of corruption in Kenya," DP Ruto stated.

"The money you are using on the campaign is money stolen by governors and you have been given that money. You have asked for the money by force from governors. The people campaigning with you are the same people who stole from sick people," he added.

Ruto questioned how Raila will fight graft if he is elected in the August presidential polls yet his associates are looting from public coffers.

"They have stolen money from KEMSA and they are financing your campaign. You run dry cleaners for governors who have stolen money from poor people in their counties and then you dare tell us that you will fight corruption," he continued.

"Look for people you can fool, Kenyans are not that daft. You have no ground to tell us that you will fight corruption. Only Kenya Kwanza can fight corruption."

The DP stated that his administration will build institutions to fight corruption, adding that he will fund the Judiciary, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Inspector General of Police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) so that they can fight graft in the country without interruptions.

"This guy is using money that has been stolen from counties. He has a laundry at his place where people come and give money that was looted and then he defends them. Those people who tole from KEMSA are funding him. Raila is a product of corruption," the DP stated.

He added that Azimio La Umoja has no agenda to sell to Kenyans which is why they are busy tarnishing his name. He stated that Raila's team does not campaign but they will accuse him of stealing the election post-August.
