Kameme FM presenter, Muthee Kiengei, was involved in a grisly road accident along the Eastern Bypass on Tuesday morning, June 21, while on his way to work.

In a statement, the media presenter expressed gratitude that he had escaped the accident unscathed. Photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke showed Kiengei's BMW X6 damaged on the front part, bumper and left wheel.

According to international rates, a BMW X6 2010 model has a price tag of Ksh6.6 million (about USD57,000).

Kiengei, however, took issue with the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) over the lack of signages along the Eastern Bypass to alert road users of changes made to the road.

He also posed a question to the Authority on the contractor's move to change lanes at night and consequentially leave stones unattended on the road.

"To KeNHA: This is just to ask you, how much is a road sign to alert motorists along the ongoing Eastern Bypass is under construction and that you have changed the lanes at night? Why does the contractor change lanes for construction at night and leave unattended stones without signs."

"Today around 3am while driving to work, I found myself a second victim of unattended road partitioning stones around Greenspot Gardens Bypass, I passed at the same place yesterday and the lanes were just normal only to be diverted at night by the contractor without a road sign that there is ongoing construction on the normal lane," he stated.

The presenter noted that nearby boda boda guys came to his rescue to avoid a fatal accident.

"I have also Learnt through boda boda guys who came to my rescue that they will lay to rest one of their colleagues tomorrow who died around Wa Kalucy due to the same unattended stones. Tonight, I had to use my reflectors to alert motorists that the lanes had been switched at night," he noted.

The vehicle was towed away as the presenter proceeded to host the morning show, ARAHÙKA, alongside Gatonye Mbugua.
