A military doctor was arrested by the police after he opened fire on a boda boda rider dropping off his daughter at their Syokimau, Machakos County home on Thursday evening, July 14.
The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer was reported to have ambushed the rider after hiding behind the estate's gate to wait for the girl's arrival.
A report issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), detailed that the doctor first assaulted the 21-year-old daughter before shifting his attention to the perturbed rider.
“The duo arrived at the agreed address and as the woman was about to pay him, a man quickly emerged from the gate and gave her a beating like a rented mule.
"He then whipped out a firearm and fired at him instead,” DCI narrated.
The rider who feared for his life fled from the scene and reported his ordeal at Syokimau police station.
He claimed that he was an online operator in Nairobi who received a request from the client waiting outside a pharmacy along Kimathi street.
"Our officers responded swiftly. They established that the man was a military doctor who was armed with a Glock pistol and 42 9mm bullets.
"Detectives also seized 2 rounds of 9mm calibre," DCI stated.
The man was arrested and detained for a few hours as the sleuths prepared relevant documents for his transfer to the military police.
"He was handed over to military police for further action, in accordance with military discipline," DCI noted.
