The new 2022 Range Rover L460 was officially launched in Kenya on Thursday, July 21, at the Jaguar Land Rover Showroom in Westlands, Nairobi.

In the event attended by UK Ambassador to Kenya Jane Marriot, Inchcape Managing Director Francis Agbonlahor described the L460 as the world's most desired sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Inchcape is a British company that is the official distributor of Jaguar Land Rover and BMW brands in Kenya.

Agbonlahor revealed that the new Range Rover would be available in different variants, including the High Standard Equipment (HSE), Autobiography, SV, and the 1st Edition (only available in the first year of manufacture.

The cost of the luxury vehicles starts at Ksh45 million (USD308,000) and varies depending on the model. Here are some of the features of the luxury vehicle:

Interior

The interior is a combination of the best human craftsmanship and technology. The seats and dashboard are crafted from the finest leather with a distinct finishing that blends with the infotainment system.

Relying on the latest designs, the system contains a 13.7 driver's display and a 13.1 floating touchscreen which uses the advanced technology. The driver and co-driver seats are 11.3-inch high-definition screens with in-built three-dimensional sound.

The vehicle ensures the comfort of passengers with chairs that can be electronically adjusted and heated.  Alongside ample leg room, the cabin also contains charging ports and ambience lighting.

Passengers will also enjoy noise cancellation features and air purification to remove odour, bacteria and allergens. Those in the backseat also enjoy different temperatures from the driver. 

 

Exterior

The exterior features a modern design to give the vehicle a classic design with electric doors. It also has pixel LED headlights with animated directional indicators. 

In addition, it has been built on a strong chassis designed to accommodate the new 23-inch wheels.

Engine and Driving Experience

The Range Rover SV comes in two varieties; the 4.4 litre Twin Turbocharged V8 petrol and the mild hybrid six-cylinder diesel engine.

Features to improve the driving experience include adaptive cruise control and steering assist to smooth out body movements during travel to achieve a quiet and relaxing travelling experience.

The integrated chassis control system monitors the road up to 2.5 kilometres ahead and prepares for corners using navigation and speed data.
