The fake notice made a clarion call to all supporters of the party lead by president-elect William Ruto to take to the streets for peaceful protests on Monday, September 5, ahead of Supreme Court ruling on the presidential election petition challenging William Ruto's August 9 victory as the President-elect .

"This is to inform our supporters that we shall have a protest from 8 a.m. As a party, with its coalition, we feel that our victory and the will of the Kenyan people wants to overturned by a few individuals," read the fake notice.

Nonetheless, the fake notice lacked some of the features of the notices issued by the party including a green strip on the header and a yellow one at the footer, where the address of the party offices is written.

On September, the acting Inspector General of the National Police Service Noor Gabow warned against public gatherings ahead of the ruling by the seven-judge bench of the apex court.

"We wish to advice the general public to avoid gathering at the Supreme Court during the ruling, or congregating in public gatherings," read the statement in part.

Gabow further declared that a roads leading to the Supreme Court will be closed  with officers only granting restricted access to authorized parties.

While speaking during the pre-trial conference on August 30, Chief Justice Martha Koome directed that Kenyans to follow the proceeding of the petition and await their ruling from their homes.

The acting IG called for Kenyans to maintain peace, and allayed any  fears of chaos erupting following the decree by the court.
