A man holding two sets of triplets allegedly delivered on the same day by his two wives attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans.

However, a fact check by Kenyans.co.ke established that the incident did not occur in Kenya and was traced to South Sudan.

Posts claiming that the man resides in Oyugis in Homa Bay County are thus false and misleading. However, the authenticity of the initial post in South Sudan cannot be substantiated.

Among the first Kenyans to post the story was former Nairobi governor, Mike Sonko. Other pages included Digital Cops on Facebook.

The man, allegedly from Oyugis in Homa Bay county, was said to have been blessed with four boys and two girls on the same day.

He was seen holding each set of triplets in each hand while his two wives were seated beside him. Two nurses also stood near the hospital bed, smiling.

Sonko shared the photo on Tuesday, October 11 but questioned the rare occurrence

"Hii ni Baraka ama ni zile ishara ya dunia kuisha, (Is this a blessing or one of the signs of the end times)?" Sonko questioned.

A similar post by Digital Cops on Facebook on Wednesday, October 12, amassed over 3,00 likes, 877 comments, and 148 shares.

“Just happened today in Oyugis town. A man impregnated his two wives and they gave birth on the same day, each having triplets; each having two girls and one boy,” Digital Cops posted on Facebook on Wednesday, October 12.

Original Post

A Google reverse search of the image showed that it was posted over 15 times on social media, with the original post in South Sudan on Gatluak Buom Pal page.

Buom Pal, who claims to be a politician, has 13K page likes and 599 followers.

His post, with the same photo, shared on Saturday, October 8, attracted 309 likes, 163 comments, and 25 shares.

“Amazing and good news from South Sudan. The two young wives of the same man have yesterday evening given birth to six babies, four boys and two girls in South Sudan Kapoeta,” read part of the post.

According to the post, the two mothers were in good health, and the father was more than excited about the blessing.

‘Congratulations to the family for the plenty of gifts they received from the Creator. The strongest man ever; he brought six babies at the same time with two hits only,” the post read on.

It’s thus misleading to claim the incident occurred in Homa Bay, with the first post shared in South Sudan three days before the photo went viral in Kenya.
