A homeowner in Westlands, Nairobi, was left stranded after a mob demolished and stole household items while police officers watched.

On Monday, November 7, the Kenyan woman with Asian roots lamented that her family had occupied the home for about 46 years.

She thus refuted reports claiming that the parcel belonged to a private developer.

"We have tried to call all the police officers in the nearby branches, some did not come and those that came did not help us," the homeowner decried.

She also lamented that some politicians solicited money from her, promising to intervene in the matter.

However, despite paying the amount demanded, nothing much was done, leaving her homeless.

She recounted the short window of time the demolishers gave her to collect her belongings before turning her house into ruins.

From the videos shared online, the mob tore the home to pieces.

"They told us we had one hour to pick essentials from the house. Then these men entered our home and started throwing out things while others looted," he added.

The acre land of land where the home was built was said to belong to a private developer.

According to the victim, her father died in 2010 and left the house to her. In the same year, the private developer was also said to have bought the piece of land.

However, the victim argued that the person the private developer bought the land from was an imposter

She noted that the developers grabbed her land despite a court order issuing the same.

Notably, the different court orders presented by both parties differed.
