Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza reacted to her impeachment with a positive message to the 67 Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) who participated in her ouster.

A few minutes after she was impeached on Wednesday, December 14, she spoke of how the lawmakers spent a lot of money and energy to see her leave the office barely three months after she assumed the role.

“They have used millions of money, sleepless nights, a lot of energy, sponsored headlines, engaging the public seriously and connections with different types of people," she noted.

The vocal Governor, however, described the move as a positive step for her proving that she was still unshaken.

She further added that her annointment would follow after the massive attack describing the whole process as a brand building.

“Just to confirm what God wants them to do, a spiritual mission,” she added.

On the other hand, her husband, Murega Baichu, was over the moon following his wife’s ejection.

Instead of being affected by the move negatively, he celebrated seeing that Kawira was trending all over social media channels.

Kawira was trending on Twitter at number one in Kenya shortly after her dismissal.

“My wife currently trending number one on Twitter. Strength of a woman,” he celebrated.

Kawira’s removal came after 67 Members of the Meru County Assembly voted to impeach her after accusing her of abusing her office.

The lawmakers took issue with her decision to employ her husband as a youth ambassador without following due process and making roadside appointments among other accusations.
