Since the day is not a public holiday, you need to plan well in advance so as not to be distracted by work commitments.

2023 Valentine’s Day will be on Tuesday, February 14.

Boston Marathon

World’s greatest marathoner Eliud Kipchoge announced on December 5, 2022 that he will be participating in the Boston Marathon.

The event will be closely watched in Kenya for two reasons;

1.  It will be the first time Kipchoge will be gracing the event.

2.  Kipchoge will make a final push to run under 2 hours in an official marathon.

Kipchoge won the Berlin Marathon in 2022 with a remarkable time of 2:01:19. Should he be slightly faster with two minutes; he will win the Boston Marathon in under 2 hours.

While Kenyans are waiting with bated breath to see if he accomplishes that, Kipchoge himself is humble about the prospect.

“If I win with the course record, I will be happy,” remarked Kipchoge. “If I win with a good time, I will be happy. I just want to win.”

World Rally Champions (WRC)

WRC Safari Rally Kenya is an annual rally held in Kenya.

The sporting event is usually held in Naivasha, Nakuru County, and brings safari racers from across the world.

WRC Safari Rally Kenya will be held in the month of June 2023.

“The rally is thrilling with challenging closed dirt roads, stunning picture-postcard scenery, and exotic wildlife.

“Competitors can expect rocky and rutted tracks and unpredictable weather which could transform dry and dusty trails into glutinous mud baths,” the championship touts the rally on their site.

Black Friday

With harsh economic times, Black Friday is increasingly becoming popular in Kenya.

The event will be held on Friday, November 25 with most stores and shops offering massive discounts on their goods and products.

The Nairobi Festival

Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja announced that Nairobi will be holding the annual Nairobi Festival.

“The fun-filled fair will be held every December to display and celebrate the “vibe of the city”,” Sakaja announced on November 26, 2022.

The inaugural festival was held immediately after December 12 Jamhuri Day celebrations and Kenyans will be waiting with bated breath for the 2023 edition of the festival.
