Second Lady, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, called on society to stand with the boychild.

Speaking at the National Youth Service (NYS) Headquarters and Textile Government Training Institute (TGTI) in Ruaraka, Nairobi, on Tuesday, January 24, she argued that the girlchild had been given first priority in all sectors.

She challenged the nation to address both gender and end the disparity between the two.

"The girl child is taken care of by society, but I ask who will marry them?

"Culturally we have a big issue that we need to take up and change. A boy is told never to cry nor show emotions or talk. They only know what not to do but not what to do,” she challenged.

She further noted that the boychild's negligence has contributed to insecurity in the country through radicalization, among other criminal activities.

Insisting on her trip’s agenda, she noted that she wanted to observe how the boychild was being treated in the institution and offered a moral compass.

“This is a narrative that must change in the country. Kenyans of good I urge you to take part in fighting the drug abuse menace in the country terming it one of the biggest challenges facing the youth in the country,” she announced.

Pastor Dorcas visited the facility in pursuit of a partnership with the government institution in implementing the agenda for Kenya.

NYS council chairman Lt. Gen Rtd Njuki Mwaniki pledged to support the initiative saying it will not only help in curbing unemployment but bringing up a responsible society.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's wife hoped to reinvigorate the 2.4 million youth grouped as economically inactive and about 1.2 million seeking jobs.

She also unveiled four areas of partnership with the National Police Service (NPS) aimed at helping struggling cops and their families
