ODM Raila Odinga joined Kenyans in mourning the death of former Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha.

Odinga eulogised the late Magoha as a man with intellect and the ability to inspire others adding that he left an unforgettable mark on the country.

The Azimio leader concluded by sending a message of condolence to the family of the former education Cabinet Secretary.

“He was a dedicated public servant and distinguished medical doctor who left an indelible mark on our country's education system. 

"We will remember him for his incredible intellect, wit, and ability to inspire and challenge us to do our best," Raila stated.

Other leaders who mourned Magoha included the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula who stated that he had many memories of Magoha who had distinguished himself by his immense contribution to the education sector. 

"His death is a big loss and a blow to the education sector. He will be remembered for his selfless service and the impactful changes he made in the education sector," Wetang'ula stated. 

Embakasi East Constituency member of parliament Babu Owino joined in mourning Magoha, remembering that he encouraged him to pursue his political career.

"Grief is just love with no place to go. You will be with whom you love professor," Owino stated. 

Murang'a Member of Parliament Sabina Chege also joined Kenyans in mourning the former CS stating that the country had lost a great soul.

She expressed that she was saddened by the passing of the former Cabinet Secretary for Education, sending messages of condolences to his family and Kenyans. 

According to the family, Magoha suffered a cardiac arrest while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

The hospital's Chief Executive Officer James Nyamongo confirmed the demise, stating that Magoha breathed his last shortly after arriving at the facility.

Magoha’s death followed the passing away of his brother  Alex Magoha on Saturday, January 28th in the United States.
