NTV Anchor Zainab Ismail Narrates Struggle After Suddenly Losing Father

Renowned NTV anchor Zainab Ismail got emotional as she narrated her struggle to adjust to life after her father passed away in 2022.

Through her social media page, Ismail stated she often beat herself up for not coping with the loss sooner.

"It is hard because he meant a lot to me. I have learnt and still learning that losing someone you love can never be fully processed, acknowledging the feeling, and accepting it as it comes," she detailed.

"It has never been the same. I was thrown into a whole new world. I miss him dearly and deeply," she added.

She went on to encourage others going through grief to be patient with themselves as they adjust to the loss of their loved ones.

 "Do not be ashamed of the feeling because of how long it took/takes. If you wish to cry, just cry, and grieve as much as you want. Wishing you all happiness and you will be okay!" she urged.

However, she reminisced on how supportive her father was even when she was a new mother noting that she would call him all the time to ask questions about her newborn.

"I would run to my dada (father) whenever anything happened to me, he made my problems appear so trivial. He really was my compass," she remarked.

During her career as a journalist, Ismail noted that her father would gather everyone in front of the TV to watch her read the news.

"You guys, my dad was my biggest fan ever. Never missed a single bulletin. He used to call all our family members and neighbours too to watch me do news no one was spared," she added.

Furthermore, she stated that her father would bring everything to a standstill when she was on TV simply because "My daughter is on TV."

Her friends and fans encouraged her to be strong as she continues to adjust to life without her father.
