An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Member of Parliament (MP) on Tuesday, February 14 responded to a show cause letter issued by the party following his visit to Statehouse.

In a letter addressed to the ODM National Chairman, Rongo MP Paul Abuor termed the allegations by his party as vague, baseless, and unfounded.

"The main allegation is that I together with some of my colleagues 'have been captured by the media appearing together with both the Party Leader and Deputy Party Leader of the United Democratic Alliance Party whose ideologies, interests and policies they have been promoting from within the Orange Democratic Movement Party'," Abuor indicated in his response.

According to the two-time MP, the allegations by the ODM party are untrue as he is a loyal and dedicated member of the party.

"I live by the Party code of conduct that I signed and have never promoted the interest of any other party let alone UDA," he indicated.

According to Abuor, the photo that informed the ODM's show cause letter was taken with President Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at Statehouse, Nairobi.

"This was a follow-up meeting derived from our earlier engagement at Kisumu State Lodge which was attended by Nyanza MPs and Governors where we discussed development issues of our region," Abuor defended himself.

Abuor's statement came against the backdrop of Azimio leader Raila Odinga reading the riot act against dissidents within his political outfit.

Odinga dismissed the ODM lawmakers stating that they met President Ruto under the guise of seeking development projects for their constituencies.

A pissed-off Odinga argued that under the new constitution, opposition MPs needed not to kneel before the government to get development projects for their constituencies since the constitution guaranteed them funds for development.

"We see a new dangerous phenomenon developing that Members of Parliament are approaching the Executive supposedly for development in their constituencies,

Under our current constitutional dispensation, the resources are being actually allocated by Parliament," read part of the statement.

Odinga informed that the era of begging for development was long gone.

These circumstances led to Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwuor aka 'Jalang'o' being kicked out of an Azimio MPs parliamentary group meeting at Maanzoni Lodge in Machakos County.

A defiant Jalang'o would later rebut stating that he would not apologise for seeking development for his constituents in Lang'ata.
