The Jeremiah Kioni-led section, which has access to the party's social media pages, flagged a notice inviting the media to cover Kega.

"Official communication on party matters will be done on official platforms pending the outcome of internal processes to resolve the impasse," Jubilee Party tweeted.

Kioni and Kega are battling to be recognised as Jubilee's secretary general, with the latter, an East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP, suspending the former.

Jubilee maintained that Kega is not the party Secretary General as indicated in their previous communication.

Early Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Kega signed out a press invite, in which Journalists were asked to attend a briefing by the 'genuine party officials'.

The Jubilee faction, allied with President William Ruto, noted that Kega would conduct an introductory meeting with the newly appointed leaders.

"Jubilee Party Secretary General (AG) Kanini Kega will today Wednesday, February 15, 2023, be inducting new office bearers," the statement by Kega read.

Kega, at the press conference in Lavington, also urged the public to reject Azimio La Umoja rallies organised to oppose President William Ruto.

Kioni Commences Disciplinary Against Kega and Allies

On Friday, February 10, 2023, the embattled Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni confirmed receipt of petitions to commence disciplinary action against nominated MP Sabina Chege, Eldas MP Adan Keynan and EALA MP Kanini Kega.

While addressing a rally at Busia, Kioni noted that the petitions against the trio were forwarded to the Jubilee Party Disciplinary Committee for action.

In response, the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) acknowledged the Jubilee Party National Executive Committee (NEC) changes that kicked out Azimio La Umoja leaning officials, Kioni and vice chairman, David Murathe.

The Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, explained that Kega's faction should settle their disputes internally, and consider the provisions of the pact that was signed during the ratification of the coalition.

“The Office has taken note of the contents of your submissions and the resolutions and acknowledges that the Party Constitution was in order in convening the meeting,” Nderitu noted.
